Turnoff to Rancho Agueda, eight Miles down a bumpy dirt road to a picturesque, farming town with a spring that supplies Santa Rosalia's water.

San Bruno, a fishing cooperative with a bus stop, grocery store and RV park (permanents only). The island offshore is San Marcos; its southern end is mined for gypsum.
Turnoff on graded dirt road to San Jose de Magdalena (15 km), an oasis village where citrus, vegetables and Mulege's famous garlic are grown, From March through December, the flavorful ajo is available in three - five foot braids. Ask anyone "donde se venda ajo?" The village is the site of a small Garlic Festival honoring its patron saint on March 19. The 9-mile, 25 minute drive is OK for sturdy cars.

Junction with 12-mile graded dirt road to Punta Chivato on Bahia de Santa Ines, a 25 minute drive OK for passenger cars. The well-signed road leads to a lovely hotel and RV camp on the beach. The area is popular for windsurfing, kayaking and fishing. The 9-hole desert course sharpens sand shots.
